Manhole covers and marketing

GRETNA – A local hospital is being sued by a woman who claims she was injured after falling in an unmarked hole.

Polita Ebanks filed suit against River Oaks, River Parish Hospital, the Parish of Jefferson and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 12.

Ebanks claims that on Dec. 11, 2013 she was walking on the River Oaks property when she stepped in an unmarked hole. The plaintiff alleges she received injuries to her hand, finger, foot and back in the incident.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, lost wages, medical expenses and permanent injury.

Ebanks is represented by Stephen P. Bruno of New Orleans-based Bruno & Bruno LLP.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
