GRETNA – The parents of a boy who allegedly struck a girl in the head with a golf club are suing over her injuries.
Rylie Ann and Chad Vicknair, on behalf of their minor child, filed suit against Jessica and Tyler Baggett and Michael and Aurora Borey, on behalf of the estate of their minor son, in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 21.
The Vicknairs contend that their daughter as a guest at the Baggetts' home located at 3046 Indiana Ave. in Kenner on June 21, 2013 when their grandson, the child of Michael and Aurora Borey, struck her in the head with a golf club. The plaintiffs allege the incident resulted in severe personal and emotional damages.
The defendant is accused of failing to provide a safe play environment, failing to act in a reasonable and prudent manner, failing to protect the minor child, failing to instruct minors on the proper use of toys, failing to use the golf club in the proper manner and failing to properly discipline children.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, permanent damage, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and loss of income.
The Vicknairs are represented by attorney Pierre F. Gaudin of Gretna.
The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.
