Subcontractor at Louis Armstrong Airport sues over $1.1 mil contract

GRETNA -  King Company LP filed suit against Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Group LLC, Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Inc., Continental Casualty Company and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 23.

King Company claims that it entered into a subcontract for $1,094,980 with Satterfield & Pontikes to perform construction work on the Consolidated Rental Car Facility at Louis Armstrong Airport in Kenner. The plaintiff contends that after the construction began it requested and received approval for a change order in the amount of $61,158.81. King Company alleges it performed all the work expected under the contract, however, after the contract was completed in August 2013 Satterfield & Pontikes still owed $46,035.79 and still have not paid the outstanding amount.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $46,035.79 is sought by the plaintiff.

King Company is represented by John Bihm of New Orleans-based Kingsmill Riess LLC.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.

Case no. 739-698.
