Nail salon sued for allegedly burning customer’s feet with chemicals

GRETNA – A nail salon is being sued by a woman who alleges she was injured during the course of a pedicure.

Crystal Eckert filed suit against Nails 4 You Day Spa Inc., Vien Phuong Nails 4 U Inc., Vien Phuong Nguyen, two unknown people and their insurer in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 20.

Eckert contends that she was a customer at Nails 4 You Day Spa located at 8847 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie where she was receiving a pedicure when her feet were injured by chemicals that burned her feet. The plaintiff alleges she was severely injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to properly train employees, failing to properly supervise their employees, negligent hiring and retention, failing to establish adequate policies and procedures for employees and improperly using chemicals,

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain, suffering, disability, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and loss of economic income and earning potential.

Eckert is represented by attorney Craig S. Sossaman of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
