GRETNA – Two gas stations are suing their property insurer for allegedly not providing proper payments following damage from Hurricane Isaac.
Brothers Stonebridge Inc. and Brothers Behrman Hgwy Inc. filed suit against Arch Specialty Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 29.
Brothers Stonebridge Inc. and Brothers Behrman Hgwy Inc. assert that they are the owner of gas stations and convenience stores located at 3441 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey and 123 Terry Parkway in Gretna. The plaintiffs claim that both properties were covered by property insurance provided by Arch Specialty Insurance Company that covered all real property, personal business property, canopy, gas pumps and signs.They allege that on Aug. 29, 2012 their properties received extensive damage when Hurricane Isaac struck the area.
The plaintiffs contend they suffered business losses as well as damages to their business properties and that they provided proof of satisfactory loss to Arch Specialty Insurance Company.
The defendant is accused of not timely submitting an insurance payment to cover the plaintiffs’ damages.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought by the plaintiff.
