GRETNA – A man who claims he was injured in slip and fall on a stop sign at a local grocery store is suing.
Byron H. Santolucito filed suit against Whole Food Company Inc., Tabani Metarie LLC and Zurich American Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 17.
Santolucito alleges that on Sept. 21, 2013 he was a customer at the Whole Foods grocery store located at 3420 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie when he exited the store and was walking to his car when he slipped and fell on stop sign that was adhered to the parking lot surface.
The defendant is accused of improperly managing its parking lot, failing to provide a slip resistant surface, failing to warn of the hazard, failing to make a reasonable inspection of the parking lot and allowing the premises to remain in a slippery condition.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses, permanent disability, lost earnings, earning capacity and loss of enjoyment of life.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
