Homeowner sued for $17K over non-payment of home elevation

GRETNA – A local homeowner is being sued by a home elevation company that claims he did not pay for elevating his home.

Orleans Shoring LLC filed suit against Johnnie Booker in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 12.

Orleans Shoring claims that on July 10, 2013 it entered into a contract with Booker to provide labor, materials, services and equipment to elevate his home located at 3524 W. Loyola Drive in Kenner. The plaintiff alleges that under the contract it was to perform all of the work and the defendant would pay $17,491.75. Orleans Shoring contends that Booker has failed to pay  for the home elevation project completed at his home.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $17,491.75 plus attorney’s fees and legal costs are sought by the plaintiff.

Orleans Shoring is represented by attorney Jason Wade of Harahan.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.

Case no. 744-178.
