GRETNA – A non-profit used goods store is being sued by an employee who claims she was injured in a slip and fall in a puddle in its parking lot.
Tara L. Randle filed suit against Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana Inc. and Goodwill Industries Building Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 24.
Randle alleges that as she was leaving her place of employment at the Goodwill located at 2150 Westbank Expressway in Harvey she slipped and fell in a puddle and fell to the ground. The plaintiff contends that the puddle was created by the crew hired to clean the defendants’ premises. Randle asserts that she was injured in the incident.
The defendant is accused of failing to maintain a reasonably safe area, failing to provide immediate assistance, failing to properly train employees, failing to warn, reckless endangerment, reckless indifference, allowing a substance to remain on the ground, failing to properly interview witnesses and failing to preserve video evidence.
An unspecified amount in damages is sought for loss of enjoyment of life, physical disability, pain and suffering, mental pain and suffering, disruption of bodily tissues and cells, medical expenses and lost wages.
