Contractor sued by materials provider for alleged non-payment

GRETNA – A construction products provider is suing a contractor for alleged non-payment.

Tech-Con Systems Inc. filed suit against C. Kent & Associates Inc., Brian Walker Sr. and Angel McCullum Walker in the 24th Judicial District Court on Dec. 5.

Tech-Con Systems Inc. asserts that it entered into a contract on March 18, 2014 with C. Kent & Associates Inc. to provide a rebar system for a property being built in the Stonebridge Subdivision in Harvey. The plaintiff claims the defendant failed to provide payment to them in a timely manner for labor and materials.

Tech-Con Systems Inc. alleges it sent a letter to the defendants on July 29, 2014 demanding the repayment in full of the contract, but it was returned to them unread.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $5,900 plus attorney’s fees are sought by the plaintiff.

Tech-Con Systems Inc. is represented by attorney Peyton B. Burkhalter of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
