GRETNA – A property insurer is being sued by a local restaurant for allegedly failing to cover damages to the business by a hailstorm.
Universal Cafe LLC and Dragon Palace Restaurant filed suit against Louisiana Citizen Property Insurance Corporation in the 24th Judicial District Court on Feb. 20.
Universal Cafe and Dragon Palace Restaurant contend they own a property located at 4960 Lapalco Blvd. in Marrero that was insured by Louisiana Citizen Property Insurance Corporation when a hailstorm struck the area on Feb. 24, 2013. The defendant is accused of breach of contract, breach of good faith and violation of state law.
An unspecified amount in damages is by the plaintiff.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
