NEW ORLEANS – A local church is being sued by the City of New Orleans for allegedly violating numerous sanitation laws regarding the removal of trash and debris.
City of New Orleans filed suit against St. Daniel Spiritual Temple in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on February 19.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant, located at 1734-36-38 Amelia St., has allegedly failed to remove all debris and trash from their property. The City of New Orleans Code Enforcement and Hearings Bureau originally assessed a $575 penalty for the violations. However, due to the alleged failure by St. Daniel Spiritual Temple to make payment within the appropriate 30 day window, the City of New Orleans filed a “Notice of Administrative Judgement” demanding $655.
Attorneys John E. Hagan, Lateefah E. Harris and Sharonda R. Williams represent the petitioner.
The case has been assigned to Div. C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
