GRETNA – The owner of a Kenner commercial building that was allegedly the site of a woman’s trip and fall on a broken and incorrectly constructed pedestrian bridge is being sued.

Jeannette Linda Rihner Ralston filed suit against Westgate Investors No. LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 6.

Ralston contends that on Sept. 10, 2014 she was visiting a dental office at Westgate Center in Kenner and was walking up a pedestrian ramp when she tripped and fell. The plaintiff asserts the ramp in question was in poor condition and that broken concrete and an incorrect slope made the surface unsuitable to walk on. Ralston claims she suffered permanent injuries in the incident.

The defendant is accused of maintaining a defective and dangerous condition.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, emotional distress and loss of enjoyment of life.

Ralston is represented by attorney Jack E. Morris of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.

Case no. 747-416.
