Home elevation company sues customer over debt; Suit says payments haven't been made for 35 months

Breach of contract

GRETNA – A Marrero homeowner is being sued by a home elevation company for allegedly failing to make payments for 35 months.

Levco LLC filed suit against Shelly Goff in the 24th Judicial District Court on March 9.

Levco asserts on Aug. 19, 2011 they contracted with Goff to elevate her home located at 6824 Gentry Road in Marrero by three feet. The plaintiff claims that all but $30,000 of the $103,431 cost for the project was covered by government grants. Levco alleges Goff was to pay back the remaining $30,000 on the contract at $88.33 per month until the amount was paid off. However, the plaintiff contends that the defendant has not made payments on he debt for 35 months, as of Sept. 15, 2014.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

Damages in the amount of $4,666.55, in addition to attorney’s fees, is sought by the plaintiff to bring the payments up to date.
