GRETNA – An accountant and her employer are being sued for allegedly stealing funds from a playground equipment company.

State Farm Fire and Casualty Company, as subrogee of/and Dyna-Play LLC, filed suit against Kristin Koenig and Accurate Business Services of Louisiana LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 30.

The plaintiff contends that Dyna-Play contracted Koenig and Accurate Business Services of Louisiana to handle their bookkeeping and accounting. State Farm asserts that on Aug. 2, 2014 it was providing insurance for Dyna-Play when it was discovered that Koenig and Accurate Business Services of Louisiana had misappropriated funds from their business and transferred them to their personal accounts. The plaintiff claims it paid an insurance claim to Dyna-Play to cover the costs of theft.

The defendant is accused of theft, conversion and misappropriation of funds.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought by the plaintiff.

State Farm is represented by Charles S. Green Jr. of New Orleans-based Beam & Green.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.

Case no. 749-317.
