Dollar General sued for alleged injuries customer suffered in slip and fall

GRETNA – A local discount retailer is being sued by a woman who claims she was severely injured after slipping in water on their premises.

Dawn Robinson filed suit against DG Louisiana LLC and Dollar General in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 10.

Robinson claims on July 15, 2014 she was a customer at the Dollar General located at 839 Behrman Highway in Jefferson Parish when she slipped in water and fell to the floor. The plaintiff alleges she was severely injured in the incident.

The defendant is accused of failing to maintain the premises, failing to properly maintain the premises, allowing foreign objects to be on the floor of the premises and failing to warn of the danger.

An unspecified amount in damages is sought for pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and lost wages.

Robinson is represented by attorney Ryan T. Hughes of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
