Boat captain accuses TLC Marine Service of providing unsafe chair

Trawler

NEW ORLEANS – A Lafourche Parish man says his employer, TLC Marine Service, is liable for injuries he suffered while piloting its vessel, the TLC Explorer.

Ronny Dominique filed a lawsuit Jan. 21 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against TLC Marine Service Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Dominique served as the captain aboard the TLC Explorer, a vessel owned by the defendant. On or about July 1 or July 2, Dominique alleges he hit his knee when the chair he attempted to sit in flipped over in the boat’s pilot house. The suit claims TLC Marine is responsible through negligence for the plaintiff’s injuries, which required medical treatment and time off of work.

Dominique seeks damages in an amount to be determined at trial. He is represented by attorney Charles C. Bourque Jr. and Joseph G. Jevic III of St. Martin & Bourque in Houma.
