U.S. accuses Robeline man of Social Security fraud

ALEXANDRIA — The U.S. government unit is suing a Robleine man, alleging Social Security fraud.

The United States of America, on behalf of Social Security Administration, filed a complaint Feb. 2, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana Alexandra Division against Kevin Joel Wooley of Robeline, alleging fraudulent misrepresentations to the SSA and purposefully withholding information from SSA.

According to the complaint, the Social Security Administration suffered financial losses of $16,522.60. The plaintiff alleges Wooley rclaimed to be disabled but was working above the substantial gainful activity level and failed to comply with SSA's requests for information on his work status and earnings.

The U.S. government requests a trial by jury and seeks an order and judgment denying debtor a discharge of his $16,522.60 debt to the Social Security Administration and any further relief the court deems appropriate. It is represented by U.S. Attorney Stephanie A. Finley and attorney Cristina Walker of the U.S. District Court Western District of Louisiana in Shreveport, and Michael McGaughran and Corey Fazekas of the Office of the General Counsel Social Security Administration in Dallas.
