Metairie woman claims she was injured by falling boxes in Dollar General

GRETNA – A Metairie woman is suing Dollar General after she claims she was injured when her manager allegedly allowed a box to fall on her shoulder.

Lois Perrilliat filed suit against Dolgencorp LLC, doing business as Dollar General #10603, and Shawn Morrison in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 8.

According to the claim, on April 25, 2015 Perrilliat was walking to the back of the Dollar General store at 7123 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie when Morrison, the store manager, was passing in the opposite direction with a high pile of boxes. One of the boxes, purportedly fell on Perrilliat, striking her on the right shoulder.

The defendants are accused of negligence in failing to maintain safe workplace conditions or perform safety inspections, permitting an unsafe condition to be present at the store, and failing to consider the aisle that the incident occurred on.

Perrilliat is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Kevin A. Rietii, James G. Kambur and Laura J. Kambur.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan, Jr.
