Woman seeks damages following an alleged slip and fall while at Leson Chevrolet

Slip02

GRETNA – An Orleans Parish woman is seeking damages following an incident in which she allegedly slipped and fell while at a car dealership.

Shannon Roussell filed a suit against Leson Chevrolet in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 25.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a patron at Leson Chevrolet, at 1501 WestBank Expressway in Harvey, on May 18, 2015, when the incident took place. The suit states that there was a leak in the premises of the dealership, which allowed rain water to create a puddle. The suit also states that the plaintiff encountered this puddle and was caused to slip and fall. Following the fall, the plaintiff purportedly suffered injuries and it was necessary for her to be admitted to the West Jefferson emergency room.

The defendant is accused of negligence in failure to foresee such incidents, failure to maintain the premises in a safe condition and failure to provide notice of the dangerous area.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Tony Dooley of the Dooley Law Office in New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius B. Regan.
