Jefferson Parish man seeks damages, claming that he was injured in an accident that was caused by another driver's negligence

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is seeking damages, claiming that he was injured in a car accident because of another's negligence.

Ferit Ersan Yurttas filed a suit against Ronald P. Tregre, Howard Dedicated Operation Inc. and The Charter Oak Fire Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 2.

According to the claim, Yurttas was operating his vehicle on Jan. 14 in Jefferson Parish when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff's vehicle was struck by Tregre's vehicle due to the alleged negligence of the defendant. The incident purportedly resulted in injury to the plaintiff.

Tregre is accused of negligence in his failure to look for other vehicles and reckless driving, while Howard Dedicated Operations Inc. is accused of entrusting its vehicle to a careless driver.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by M. Ali Shahlaei of Gretna. The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius B. Regan.
