GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is seeking damages following an incident in which her former boyfriend allegedly caused her physical harm.
Joni Barlow filed a suit against Ellis Kevin Cooper in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 2.
According to the claim, Barlow was at her boyfriend's residence on May 3, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while with her current boyfriend at his residence, Cooper arrived at the residence without warning. The suit states that a fight ensued, and that in the course of events, the plaintiff was caused personal injury by Cooper, including a broken nose.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Kristine K. Sims of Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
