Man claims injuries after Jefferson Parish crash

Car accident 13

NEW ORLEANS – A man is suing a driver alleging injuries after an accident in Jefferson Parish.

Steven Robichaux filed a complaint on May 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Kumar Vinod, New Century Transport LLC and National Casualty Co, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that June 23, 2015, while he was stopped in his 2011 Ford F-150 in the left turn lane at the intersection of Dickory Avenue and Citrus Boulevard in Jefferson Parish, his vehicle was struck by defendant Vinod, causing him to suffer property damage and personal injuries. He alleges he has suffered loss of earnings, medical expenses, physical and mental pain and suffering and loss of consortium, society and services.

The plaintiff holds Vinod, Vinod's employer New Century Transport LLC and National Casualty Co. responsible because the Vinod allegedly failed to keep proper lookout, traveled in a reckless and careless manner, failed to yield and negligently turned into and hit his vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount as may be due and proper, for all costs and disbursements in this cause of action and for all other general and equitable relief. He is represented by Alton J. Hall Jr. and Bobby J. Delise of Delise & Hall in Covington.
