Whitney Bank files suit for allegedly past due credit card payments

GRETNA – A Mississippi state chartered bank claims a customer allegedly failed to make payments.

Whitney Bank filed a suit against Michael Gregory Hopper in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 13.

According to the claim, the defendant became indebted to Whitney Bank following the execution of an application/agreement for a credit card on Jan. 18, 2012. The suit states that the defendant failed to make a payment that was due on Aug. 25, 2015, and has further failed to make payments for an amount of $1,343.62. The suit further states that the defendant has not replied to mailed requests made by the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of failure to comply with the agreement by making the necessary payments.

The plaintiff is seeking the due amount in damages. It is represented by John Dale Powers of Powers, Sellers and Chapoton LLP in Baton Rouge. The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
