Suit filed against Ochsner Medical Foundation over alleged fall injuries

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is seeking damages claiming that she was caused to trip and fall on a loose carpet at Oschner Medical Foundation.

Hazel M. Fondren filed a suit against Ochsner Clinic Foundation LLC, Dr. David J. Elizardi, Dr. Mary Yu, Dr. Lakshmi N.P. Ravipati, Dr. Anabelen Rivra De Rosales., Drs. "X," "Y," "Z" and RST Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 7.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was an invited guest on the Ochsner Medical Foundation premises on June 1, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while checking into the hospital for a procedure, the plaintiff was caused injury when she tripped and fell on a loose and bunched-up carpet in the hallway. She alleges the fall caused a fracture of the knee.

The defendants are accused of negligence, failure to supervise the premises and other acts of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Willis J. Ray of Hammond. The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
