College alleges former student still owes on loan

GRETNA – The Louisiana Community and Technical College System is seeking damages claiming that a student failed to pay a balance of more than $1,000.

Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a suit against Ja-Hyree Reado in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 6.

According to the claim, the defendant enrolled with the plaintiff for the Fall 2013 semester and sustained a balance for those services. The suit states that though the plaintiff requested that payments be made and that a balance of $1,214 remains.

The defendant is accused of failure to pay for the balance accumulated.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Meghan N. Beal of the Louisiana Department of Justice. The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
