GRETNA – A St. Bernard Parish man is seeking damages, claiming that he was caused to fall due to a faulty deck at a Best Western.

Paul Murphy filed a suit against Sthanki Properties LLC, Westbank LLC and Manish Sthanki in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 14.

The suit states that while the plaintiff was installing a charging station for electrical cars, he crossed over a deck. While walking over the deck, the suit states that one of the boards fell in, causing the plaintiff to fall and be injured.

The defendants are accused of negligence through their failure to maintain the premises in a safe manner, failure to exercise due care and overall negligence in relation to the incident.
