American Express Bank seeks payment of credit card balance

GRETNA – American Express Bank is seeking damages, claiming that a customer failed to make payments for more than $42,000 worth of charges.

American Express Bank filed a suit against Steve Schollnick and Schollnick Advertising LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 13.

According to the claim, the plaintiff and defendant entered into an agreement in which the defendant was issued a credit card from the plaintiff. Despite agreeing to make payments on the credit card, the defendant allegedly failed to do so, accumulating more than $42,000 as of February.

The defendants are accused of failure to pay what was owed to American Express.

The plaintiff is seeking $42,815.88 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Edward F. Bukaty III and Warren W. Wingerter Jr. of Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
