NEW ORLEANS — An LLC is seeking damages claiming that a tenant failed to pay rent.
429 Bourbon Street LLC filed a suit against RMDR Investments Inc. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on July 15.
According to the claim, the defendant was renting property from the plaintiff, from which it operated a bar and adult entertainment club from January 2006 to June 2016. The suit states that the defendant was obligated to pay part of its profits to the plaintiff, but has refused to do so, in addition to failing to pay the monthly fee for renting the facilities.
The defendant is accused of deceptive and unlawful practices and acts in relation to the Louisiana Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by James M. Garnier, Ryan O. Luminais and Brandon W. Keay.
The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso
