The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority claims that a buyer failed to make improvements to a property

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority is seeking damages, claiming that a buyer failed to make agreed-upon improvements to the property.

New Orleans Redevelopment Authority filed a suit against Carol Elie Gray and The City of New Orleans in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on June 20.

According to the claim, the plaintiff and defendant entered into an agreement of Purchase and Sell for a property located at 2500 Joliet St. on March 31, 2011. The suit states that the defendant was obligated to make certain improvements to the property within 270 days of purchase, however, the defendant allegedly never made these improvements to the property.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract and unjust enrichment.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Victoria Hines.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 2016-6182.
