Driver files suit against Pennsylvania woman after hit-and-run accident

GRETNA – A man alleges his vehicle was damaged in a hit-and-run.

Kip Smith filed a suit against Jessica Hume and Permanent General Assurance Corp. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 29.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was driving his vehicle on Lapalco Boulevard in Jefferson Parish on Dec. 30, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while the plaintiff was operating his vehicle, the defendant struck the rear end of his car with hers and then proceeded to flee the scene.

Hume is accused of negligence through following too closely, failing to stop, careless operation of the vehicle and other acts of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Salvador M. Brocato III of Brocato Law Firm in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
