GRETNA – A man claims that he fell on greasy pavement outside of a Walgreen store.

Gerald Sullivan filed a suit against Walgreen Louisiana Co. Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 30.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a customer at the Walgreen located at 818 Westbank Expressway in Westwego on July 1, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while the plaintiff was entering the store, he was caused to slip on concrete which had been allowed to remain greasy and oily. The suit also states that the plaintiff was caused physical injuries due to the force of the fall, including a fractured left foot.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to provide a safe entrance for customers and for failing to not use an anti-slip surface.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Max M. Chotto of Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
