Law money 07

GRETNA – A couple claims FedEx delivered an $800 ring to the wrong address.

Michelle and Eugene Redmann filed a suit against Birkat Elyon LLC and Federal Express Corporation, doing business as FedEx, in the 24th Judicial District Court.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs entered into an agreement with the defendant for the purchase of a ring priced at $800. The suit states that the defendant shipped a sample ring to the plaintiffs, which the plaintiffs allegedly mailed back via FedEx on Aug. 18, 2015. The suit states that the defendant, FedEx, however, failed to request a signature for delivery, despite the plaintiffs paying $800 in insurance. The defendant, Birkat claims that it never received the sample ring and the plaintiffs have lost the money invested in the shipping of the ring.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failure to provide the level of service expected, failing to deliver the ring to the correct location and other acts of negligence.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by Eugene P. Redmann.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
