BATON ROUGE – A waste water plant operator alleges he was terminated in retaliation because of a disability.
Kenneth L. Brock filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against
the city of Gonzales, Perry Perck and Mayor Barney D. Arceneaux,
alleging disability discrimination.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 1, 2015, while performing his duties, he was injured when a dog charged at him and he fell trying to escape it. Upon returning to work with lifting restrictions, he alleges he was subjected to systematic and intentional discrimination because of his disability. The plaintiff holds the city of Gonzales, Perck and Arceneaux responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to prevent and correct promptly the harassment and retaliation and terminated his employment on Aug. 3, 2015, on insubordination claims.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury, costs, attorney's fees, legal interest and along with any other relief justice and equity demand. He is represented by Jean-Paul Robert in Gonzales.
