NEW ORLEANS — A PBX operator has filed a class-action lawsuit alleging that her former employers violated wage laws.

Myreal Tillman is suing Louisiana Children’s Medical Center, a/k/a LCMC Health, and Touro Infirmary. She filed a complaing on Aug. 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against the defendants alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was not paid for half an hour each shift, was not paid for the entire time she worked and was not paid overtime for all hours worked in excess of 40 per week. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the wage and overtime pay to which she was entitled, retaliated against her by reducing her hours, failed to accurately record the hours she worked and illegally terminated her employment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all unpaid wages, plus interest and penalties, liquidated damages, attorney fees and costs and all other relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by Jody Forester Jackson and Mary Bubbett Jackson of Jackson + Jackson in New Orleans.
