Woman claims poor condition of steps caused fall

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she slipped and fell on steps that were in poor condition.

Earlene Couvillion filed a suit against Riverside Properties LLC and XYZ insurance company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at the location of 5200 Coffee Drive on March 11, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on cement steps that were in very poor condition and lacked handrail.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to maintain the premises.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Rene Lovelace of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
