Woman claims that a Wal-Mart employee struck her with a shopping cart

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages, claiming that she was struck by a shopping cart.

Teresa Magee filed a suit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., John Doe and XYZ insurance company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at the Walmart located at 6000 Bullard Ave. on Jan. 31, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was injured when one of the employees of the Walmart rolled a shopping cart out and hit her.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Edward Womac Jr. and Matthew Sutton of the Law Offices of Edward J. Womac Jr. & Associates in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
