Videographer alleges he fell down steps at New Orleans Morial Convention Center

NEW ORLEANS – A man claims that he fell down a stairwell at a convention center after the lights went out.

Clarence Leonard filed a suit against New Orleans Morial Convention Center, New Orleans Public Facility Management Inc., Axis Insurance Co., XL Insurance Co. and Greenwich Insurance Co. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Sept. 30.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was working as a freelance videographer on Oct. 2, 2015, when the incident took place. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to trip and fall down a stairwell when the lights went out.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Belhia V. Martin of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Regina Bartholomew Woods.
