A man is seeking payment of an insurance policy following his father's death

NEW ORLEANS – A man is seeking damages following the death of his father.

Wardell Young filed a suit against New York Life Insurance Company and the Trustee of the AARP Life Insurance Trust in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Oct. 3.

According to the claim, Mr. Calvin Wallace had a life insurance policy with the defendant. The suit states that following the man's death, the defendant has failed to make payment on the policy to the plaintiff, who is the trustee of the policy.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Kenneth J. Beck.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-9833.
