A family is seeking damages, claiming that a pipe burst in their home and leaked sewage

NEW ORLEANS – A family is seeking damages following the bursting of a sewage pipe in their home.

Angela Allen, Tyron Allen and Tyriell Allen, individually and on behalf of her children, filed a suit against Virginia Bijou and Norman Bijou in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Oct. 17.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs' suffered damages on Oct. 17, 2015 when a pipe in their home burst, causing sewage to leak into their home. The plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on the slippery sewage resulting in both pain and humiliation.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to make the necessary repairs to the property to prevent such an incident from occurring.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiffs are represented by Kevin M. Riley and Michael D. Riley.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-10321.
