A couple is seeking damages for a slip and fall in a Walmart

NEW ORLEANS — A couple is seeking damages following a slip and fall in a Walmart.

Raphael T. Foley Sr. and Francis Bartling Foley filed a suit against Walmart Stores Inc in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Jan. 15.

According to the claim, the plaintiff and his wife were guests at the Walmart located at 4001 Behrman Highway on April 6, 2015 when the incident took place. The suit states that the plaintiff, Raphael, was caused to slip and fall on a substance that had been left on the ground.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to remedy the situation in order to prevent such an injury from occurring.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiffs are represented by David L. Colvin, Jeffery P. Brothers, Shelly R. Hale, and Jeffrey D. Hufft.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
