Woman alleges baseball injured leg at Big Easy Sportsplex

GRETNA – A woman claims she was injured while participating in a game at a sportsplex when she was struck by a ball.

Jessica L. Gallegos filed a suit against Hanover Insurance Co. and Big Easy Sportsplex LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 28.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at the defendant's property located at 800 Webb St. in Jefferson on Jan. 14 when the incident took place. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to be injured when a baseball struck her in the leg while she was playing in a volleyball game.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Terrence J. Lestelle, Andrea S. Lestelle and Richard M. Morgain of Lestelle & Lestelle in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
