Whole Foods shopper alleges she was injured after slipping on onion skins

GRETNA – A woman claims that she fell when she stepped on onion skins while shopping at a grocery store.

Idania Ortega filed a suit against Whole Foods Market Inc. and ABC insurance company in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 31.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at the defendant's store at 3420 Veterans Blvd. on Feb. 5 when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall when she stepped on onion skins that had been left on the floor.

Whole Foods Market Inc. is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Romualdo Gonzalez and Gloria T. Lastra of Braden, Gonzalez & Associates in Kenner.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
