NEW ORLEANS – A business owner alleges a van he purchased for his company is defective.
Christopher Ryon and Chris' Law Care Service LLC filed a complaint on Oct. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Ford Motor Co. alleging that the automobile dealer violated the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 27, 2015, they purchased a new 2015 Ford Transit Van for personal use. When delivered, they allege the van was defective in materials and workmanship and that such defects substantially impaired its use, value and safety. The plaintiffs hold Ford Motor Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to buy back the defective vehicle and failed to perform the repair work in a good and workmanlike manner.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek revocation of his acceptance and rescission of the sale of the subject vehicle, compensation for incidental and consequential damages, plus interest, diminution in value, litigation expenses and all other relief that is appropriate. They are represented by Richard C. Dalton of Richard C. Dalton LLC in Mandeville.
