Degan, Blanchard & Nach APLC accused of defamation

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish man alleges defamatory statements were made about him in court.

Louis Charles Jr. filed a suit against Brittney B. Ankersen; Foster P. Nash III; and Degan, Blanchard & Nach APLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Nov. 10.

According to the claim, Charles Jr. was the plaintiff in a different suit in which the defendants were representing the defendant in that case. He alleges that the defendants falsely claimed that he was charged or convicted of possessing crack cocaine, first degree murder and armed robbery, as well as other crimes in open court.

The defendants are accused of defamation.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Gregory Thomas Akers and Joshua Paul Melder of Akers+Medler in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
