Delgado Community College alleges former student defaulted on account

GRETNA – A community college is seeking damages for an allegedly open account.

Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a suit against Juanita Geralyn Washington in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 23.

According to the claim, the plaintiff allowed the defendant to attend the institution for the fall 2013 semester, in which she accumulated more than $1,100 in charges. The suit states that the plaintiff has not received payment from the defendant.

The defendant is accused of an open account against the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking $1,112.37 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Wendy Ramnarine of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
