NEW ORLEANS – An African-American male alleges discrimination affected his treatment after an on-the-job injury.
Eric V. Cheffen filed a complaint on Nov. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against OFS Inc., Chevron Oil Co., Packard Pipe Terminals LLC, Traveler Casualty & Surety Co., et al. alleging discrimination and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is employed by OFS Inc. and was injured on March 25, 2015, because of allegedly unsafe conditions. The plaintiff holds OFS Inc., Chevron Oil Co., Packard Pipe Terminals LLC, Traveler Casualty & Surety Co., et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly conspired together to adversely affect his right to receive adequate compensation for the injuries he incurred while working for OFS and alleges the defendants discriminated against him with their employment practices because of his race.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, jointly and severally, compensatory and putative damages, litigation costs and all other equitable relief that is proper in this case. He is representing himself.
