Tenant blames property owners for leak that caused her to fall

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman is suing her apartment owners, alleging their negligence caused her to suffer injuries in a fall. 

Glyndell Simon filed a lawsuit against Dec. 5 against Kirin Property LLC, McKenna Crescent Investments LLC, MC13 LLC and Mark Ebenhoch in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.  

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a tenant at 2606 Orleans Ave. O Dec. 7, 2015, the suit says, she slipped and fell in her bedroom because of water leaking through the ceiling. The lawsuit says Simon had previously told the defendants about the leak.

The suit says Simon suffered bruises and sprains to her spine, shoulder, head, neck and upper extremities.   

The defendant is accused of negligently failing to maintain the premises and take actions to protect the plaintiff.

Simon seeks all appropriate damages, court costs and attorney fees. She is represented by attorney Michael. I. Rodriguez of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-11946.
