Patient blames MRI business for fall on rug

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man is suing the operators of an MRI facility, alleging their negligence caused him to fall on a rug.

Wayne Michael Richoux filed a suit Dec.9 against West Jefferson MRI LLC and CNA Insurance Company in 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, on Dec. 10, 2015, Richoux was leaving the defendant's property after an MRI/CAT scan when he tripped on a rug and fell to the ground. The suit says he sustained injuries so severe to his knee, back, neck, legs and ribs that the plaintiff has had to receive medical attention. .

The defendant is accused of negligently failing to place a safe mat on the floor and omission through failing to create a safe environment.

Richoux seeks all appropriate damages, court costs and attorney fees. He is represented by attorney Douglas L. Uzee Jr. of Uzee and Richard in Marreno.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
