Orleans Parish man claims Lloyd's London failed to pay for property damages

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish man is suing an insurance company, alleging that it failed to pay for damage to his property.

Christopher Moore filed a suit against certain underwriters at Lloyd's London in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

According to the claim, the plaintiff's property was damaged by wind and rain during a storm on June 23, 2015. The suit states that the defendant was the insurer of the property but it failed to inspect or pay the plaintiff for the damages in a timely manner. The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Jeffrey P. Berniard of Berniard Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-12199.
