NEW ORLEANS – A Plaquemines Parish couple alleges the husband was exposed to illness-causing bacteria while working.

Allen Moreau and Tammy Moreau filed a complaint on Dec. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Weston Solutions Inc. alleging negligence and unseaworthiness.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in Dec. 12, 2015, Allen Moreau was first informed that a bacteria known as pseudomonas aeruginosa had entered his body and had caused and continues to cause damage. The suit states that said bacteria was present on defendant's chartered vessel. Plaintiff Tammy Moreau alleges she suffered a loss of consortium.

The plaintiffs holds Weston Solutions Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly willfully ignored and refused to pay its contractual obligation of maintenance and cure benefits to Allen Moreau.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant in an amount to be set by jury, plus an award for punitive damages, maintenance and cure, cost of these proceedings and all other general and equitable relief. They are represented by Michael A. Fenasci of Fenasci & Associates APLC in Metairie.
